RSA21 planning

Less detour – a clear order for maintenance drivers.

Shift templates with a timeline and route suggestion on real road routes: this saves drive time and detours – lowering costs and enabling more visits per hour. The adopted order applies consistently in the template and the shift view; tours spanning midnight are supported.

From the template to the order on the shift

Anyone serving many locations a day knows the puzzle: same tasks – but a different order can save time and distance. RSA21 combines dispositive planning in the template with a route suggestion you can review transparently and adopt selectively.

One grid for the day
Intervals and slots are managed on a timeline – even when the shift spans midnight and the day change should stay visible in the grid.
Traceable routing
The depot via the organization address serves as the reference point; distance and drive time between stops are calculated from routing – no “black box”.
Adopt with consequence
Adopting the suggestion synchronizes the visible order with the already planned shift assignments – so the office and the field see the same order.

How teams work with it

  1. 1

Template with tasks & time window

You maintain shift templates with the relevant project intervals and time offsets – this is the operative truth for later shifts.

  2. 2

    Trigger route optimization

If the projects have coordinates and the depot can be determined, RSA21 calculates a routing suggestion including order and route information.

  3. 3

    Review and adopt

You decide: adopt or ignore the suggestion. Once adopted, the timeline and already linked shift assignments are aligned to the same order.

Frequently asked questions

What does “smart planning” mean concretely in RSA21?

You store tasks and intervals in shift templates on a daily timeline. For tours with multiple project locations, we suggest an order – based on real road routes and a depot (organization address). Adopt the suggestion and the order applies consistently in the template and for staff in the mobile shift view.

How is the route calculated?

Technically we use a connected routing service (OSRM Trip) with the coordinates of the assigned projects and the depot. These are distances and drive times on the road network, not straight-line distances – so the suggestion stays practical.

What happens with shifts spanning midnight?

The timeline has a visible day change. The routing logic accounts for this accordingly: stops before and after midnight are optimized separately and merged cleanly in order – without tasks being nonsensically chained “across the date”.

Does this replace automatic dispatching?

No. You still decide on templates, assignments and operative priorities. The optimization supports a concretely traceable sub-task – the order on site – and can be accepted or discarded.
